Brad Ball, President and CEO

Brad co-founded and was Chief Marketing Officer for IntellectMarket Inc., a collaboration software company located in Santa Rosa, CA. IntellectMarket was sold to CollabNet in 2001. With 5.5 million users, CollabNet is the industry's most widely used collaborative platform for software development. Brad was also CMO for solar energy company Arise Technologies (APV-TSXV). Brad earned his MBA from McMaster University

Ross Goodwin, Vice-President, Professional Services

Ross is based in Santa Rosa, CA. He is a 26-year veteran of Hewlett-Packard Company in marketing management and internal consulting to executives. He was formerly Hewlett-Packard's Corporate Manager of Customer Loyalty. Ross also teaches part-time at the College of Marin and University of San Francisco. Ross earned his MBA from Berkley and an undergraduate degree in Physics from Sonoma State University.

Bill Warelis, VP Corporate Communications and Marketing Services

Bill has led the marketing and corporate communications effort for LoyaltyMatch Inc. since its launch. Recently he took on additional responsibility as the primary contact with several core LoyaltyMatch clients. Bill has spent his career in corporate and marketing communications gaining broad international experience during stints at agencies and corporate offices in London, NYC and Toronto, where he provided strategic counsel and tactical implementation to a diverse list of companies including Time-Warner, DuPont, Avis Budget Group, Wyndham Worldwide, The McGraw-Hill Companies and ICI Plc.

David Howatson, Vice-President, Business Development

David is focused on sales and partner channel relationships. David has 16 years of business development and marketing experience with a number of global technology, professional and financial services organizations. He was a member of the Manulife Financial IPO team, Marketing Director for PriceWaterhouseCoopers and worked at Open Text Corporation where he was an integral member of the global Microsoft partnership team. Most recently David spent a few years as a Business Development Manager on Research in Motion’s E-Commerce team.

Michael Ben, CFO

Michael is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA,CA) with over twenty-five years of accounting and finance experience working first with PwC and E&Y, and then with various manufacturing entities and start-ups in CFO and Controller capacities. As CFO, he was involved with an IPO for ARISE Technologies Corporation and a RTO for Broadband Learning Corporation on the TSX Venture Exchange. In 2009, Michael earned his Corporate Finance (CF) designation jointly issued by the Canadian and British Chartered Accountants. Michael is active with various charities and every two years spends time volunteering in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.

 

Technical Team

Mike Ball, Vice President Operations and CTO

Mike has over 22 years experience building and leading high technology development companies. Mike was one of the architects of Bell Sympatico and Advantage Business Internet Solutions, served as VP Technology for SpiderTop Rich Media Internet Corporation, and is an accomplished game developer and author. He is a computer science graduate of Confederation College and a member of OACETT.

Jennifer Buck, Director, Product Solutions

Jennifer has over 13 years of IT experience as a designer, programmer and database administrator. She has been instrumental in building several world-class applications in both the private and public sectors. Her experience is diverse, ranging from developing and supporting large high-availability information systems to creating online stores for small businesses. Jennifer earned her BA(Honours) in Computer Science and English at Queen's University. She completed her MSc. in Systems Science at the University of Ottawa.

Jeremy Hutchings, Java Developer/Lead Mobile Developer

A recent graduate of Conestoga College, Jeremy has had a life-long passion for computers and IT. He developed his first software nearly 20 years ago. Jeremy has experience in desktop and mobile development. He maintains a continuing involvement with Conestoga College, helping to foster their community involvement.

Chris Bell, Java Developer/Consultant

Chris is a recent graduate of the Computer Programmer/Analyst program at Conestoga College. Having started developing software in highschool, he has over 10 years of IT and programming experience, and specializes in database design and web development. Prior to studying computer programming, Chris worked as a real-estate appraiser after having completed a bachelors degree in Commerce and Business Administration.

Patrick Hofmann, User Experience Architect

Since 1993, Patrick has been making products easier to use -- by focusing on visual strategies that improve product usability and international appeal. From removing the clutter in countless digital interfaces, to advancing the standards of wordless instructions, Patrick loves evaluating and designing easy-to-use information products. He also runs his own user experience company called designpH working for clients like Google, HP, Nokia, Motorola, Logitech, RIM, and Netgear.

Terry Todd, Infrastructure Engineer

Terry has been involved for over 16 years in positions in the public and private sector. He has been involved in software development in large and small organizations, including several start-ups. In his experience as a software engineer, Terry has designed and implemented many software systems. For example, he has been involved in the design and development of a distributed automated build system, a network management system, a trouble management system, and many web based applications. Terry grew up on a ranch in east central Alberta and received a Math/Computer Science degree from the University of Victoria in 1989.

Stephen Prendergast

Stephen lives in Los Angeles and is the former Executive Vice President of Live Nation Studios (a division of Ticketmaster/Live Nation) where he managed strategy, marketing, copyright and legal aspects for negotiation with artists, managers, record labels, copyright owners and strategic partners. Previously, he was co-CEO of Immediatek/DiscLive an early pioneer in the live on demand digital music marketplace, whereby music fans could purchase a copy of the live concert they had just experienced immediately after the event. Stephen was also Senior VP-Head of Music for Walden Media, which produced the “The Chronicles of Narnia” film franchise, VP Of Squint/Gaylord/Word Entertainment where he negotiated over 150 license agreements with third parties, was CEO of Pyramid Interactive/OM Records and a VP with BMG Music.

William C. Brown, Advisor

William (Bill) is the former COO of Maritz Canada. Bill is an accomplished leader and business strategist who has demonstrated his capabilities across a variety of industries including marketing services, technology and outsourcing within leading organizations including Maritz and Xerox, with growth mandates to capture emerging market opportunities and build high performance businesses. Bill earned his Honors BSc. Statistics and Computer Science and MBA from McMaster University.

Larry Innanen, Advisor

Larry is the former EVP and General Counsel for Interbrew North America. Larry is a seasoned, senior executive who has had a broad range of business and legal experience over the first three decades of his career. Larry established his own public law firm which he operated for 6 years before joining the in house legal department of John Labatt Limited in 1982. He served for three years as Corporate Secretary of JLL then two years as its Director of Canadian Legal Services before joining Labatt Brewing Company Limited in 1992 as its first Executive Vice President & General Counsel. As the Chief Legal Officer for Labatt throughout the bulk of the 1990's, Larry's legal career included the negotiation and drafting of material contracts as well as the completion of a number of significant divestitures, mergers, acquisitions, financings and joint ventures. Larry also has extensive experience in intellectual property litigation in particular with Labatt's Ice Beer trade-mark and patent litigation in Canada and the United States. In 1999 Larry completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and shortly thereafter became the Vice President of Strategic Planning Services for Interbrew in the Americas.

Brent Remai, Advisor

Brent is the chief marketing officer at FireEye, Inc. of Milpitas, CA. FireEye is the leader in stopping advanced targeted attacks using advanced malware, zero-day exploits and APT tactics. Brent brings over 20 years of marketing and strategy experience from top-tier companies such as McAfee, HP and Palm as well as start-ups. Brent joined FireEye from McAfee, where he was vice president of worldwide marketing for the $1B consumer and SMB businesses. At McAfee, he helped achieve record growth and market share, which ultimately led to the sale of McAfee to Intel for $7.7B. Prior to this role Brent was the vice president of product and field marketing for Palm where he helped spawn the smartphone market and grew revenue to over $1.5B. Brent also held senior management positions at HP and is the recipient of three major global industry marketing awards. He holds an M.B.A. from the Ivey School of Business (Western) and a B. Comm. from the University of Saskatchewan.

Steven Harrison, Advisor

Steven is currently President, Zero Link Markets, Inc. located in Santa Rosa, CA. Steven has over 20 years in financial and operations management experience in industries from industrial manufacturing to software development. In 1999, he co-founded IntellectMarket, a software company that was sold to CollabNet in 2001. He then became Chief Financial Officer of TriVascular, Inc., which sold to Boston Scientific in April 2005. Steven recently founded Zero Link Markets which targets direct to consumer and direct to trade wine sales via VinoShipper.com. Throughout the last ten years Steven has been an advisor to several early stage businesses including Think Tank Photo, 9mm Books, and RedCondor.

Simon Hartley, Advisor

Simon is director of Sales and Marketing at Thursby Software, the leader in Mac-Windows enterprise integration. Simon works directly with some of the world's top Internet, travel and publishing companies. His career has included management at a leveraged hedge fund, partner at Nexgenix, one of the pioneer interactive agencies, and management consulting roles at Red Hat, HP, Unisys, Cap Gemini and Atos Origin in Europe and North America.
